Dear Collin: I love you. And I miss you. A lot. Please drop by some mail. I miss talking to you. And I feel so alone right now. :/ meow bye! :)

Dear Collin: It's strange that we both get on even though our last snippets were written months ago. We're each nearing up on two years of the site...man, I remember what it used to be like, back when there was so much more activity and there was a...dare I say it? A sense of community. Oh! And lucky you! You got to be me for a day... (previous pm) Anyway...

Collin, Best wishes for the new year to you. our sawmill code was possibly the cause of all the chaos and downtime a couple of months ago, we actually still don't know! The backend gent we have hired to help us sort this stuff out has employed a temporary(?) solution that resets the server(?) or something crazy on a regular basis so that the site doesn't go down. THere is some errant code on the loose and we've got to find it! Hope you've been well...Happy to see you still snippeting!

3:06PM EST   Dec 24th, 2008 — by Fullmoonblue
Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2009, Collin! And PS, I've really enjoyed your name during the past few weeks... :)

Yay! My absence from 21 Kisses is finally over! Thank you so much for that story idea, Collin. Just writing in it makes me feel so much better.

1:20AM EST   Nov 8th, 2008 — by ICEE PI
oooookkk, I may hold off that idea, for a little longer until I can find somewhere appropriate for it. Unless you give tha go ahead. ~waves~

9:13PM EST   Nov 7th, 2008 — by ICEE PI
hey hey glopslopper, quick query for ya. Got another idea for 21 kisses, but the way the story is at tha mo, it kinda jumps the gun -like a whole pensioner pooky thing 'D...so, was wondering if you wouldn't mind me taking over that tree again for another longwinded stint? ~waves~

What is it with you and the meaningless Googleslop of names? xD

11:26PM EST   Nov 3rd, 2008 — by Nina Zito
i wish i could say. very very odd malfunctions have us scrambling a bit. sawmill code is still lurking but back-burnered for a moment while we work out this strange server stuff...what is going on? why are we going down? do you hear any word on the street? has anyone made a connection like 'wow, I went to post that and BOOM the whole site went down'? Heard anything?

8:59PM EST   Oct 29th, 2008 — by Kole
Nice name! Now I feel like I need to think up something clever...

3:14AM EST   Oct 26th, 2008 — by ICEE PI
~sad~ is too late now. I have finished my story. could give another character on another branch the name...oh well. I think about it ;D

3:48PM EST   Oct 22nd, 2008 — by Fullmoonblue
Done! Great poem by the way. I liked the details about the missing waitress and the TV. :) (And no, not biologically related. He's a monkeybro.) Btw, if you chose 'Coolin' on purpose, I like it. And hey, if not, I like it anyway... Best wishes, and I hope life's treating you well! :)

1:08AM EST   Oct 22nd, 2008 — by Carleton Thayer
Collin~ Please disregard the last MM. I have saved a hardcopy of your snippet 'New Mexico Night' leave me an MM of your email address and I will send it to you to regraft. Sorry about all this. ~Carleton

12:15AM EST   Oct 22nd, 2008 — by Carleton Thayer
Collin~ Since I assume you've left already, I can only hope you read this soon! THIS IS IMPORTANT! Please make sure you have a back up copy of New Mexico Night. I had some grafting issues and asked blue to prune it so I can redo it. I'm sorry about this Collin. ~Carleton

8:45AM EST   Oct 21st, 2008 — by ICEE PI
i like your name too ;D I was also wondering about the name of the main character of 21 Kisses, does he have a name or are we to ad lib it. Will he end up with many names, just as he will have many scenarios to contend with. I almost called him Elias. Just popped in ma brain... bloody hell, i can say a lot without thinking... ;D cya Eliza (ICEE)

12:19AM EST   Oct 21st, 2008 — by Carleton Thayer
Thank's a lot Dud. Hopefully I can continue making snippets worthy of your approval now. ~Carleton

4:10PM EST   Oct 20th, 2008 — by Carleton Thayer
Hey Collin~ Just got a quick question that's been bugging me. Did you ever give a name to the main character in 21 Kisses? Or has he remained anonymous? ~Carleton

8:58AM EST   Oct 18th, 2008 — by ICEE PI
...and maybe one day I'll learn how to spell... yup...

8:56AM EST   Oct 18th, 2008 — by ICEE PI
Hi, wanted to say that 21 kisses is a great concept - love the open-endedness of it. And, because it was such a good idea, I did kinda get carried away with it. And whether you like it or not, your going on the favourites list jsut so all who venture onto ma page know that I like you stuff. So there ~nods~

12:33AM EST   Oct 18th, 2008 — by Kole
There you are! My second tree. I accidentally made it Public, but you can only hope for the best at that point, right? Oh, well. Take care, Dudbud. I enjoy reading your blog-thing with Gamma Banana. Toodeloo!

12:25PM EST   Oct 13th, 2008 — by Nina Zito
Col-Dud, Great questions about the sawmill. Need to answer these for all monkeys since pruning will undoubtedly make everyone nervous...in the meantime I can let you know that the criteria are: 1) snippet is ranked less than the current average rank for ALL the snippets on the site; 2) the snippet has no offshoots; 3) the snippet has been posted for more than 2 weeks. When ready the snippet will get a 'last gasp' in the sawmill where it will have an hour-count down (24H, 18H, etc) to its demise. We haven't turned this code on properly yet, but will most-likely do so tonight or tomorrow at which time I will need to send out an email letting all monkeys know what is up! Also I need to check with Ilya as to the accuracy of what I have just written. Sometimes we agree on something and then he does things slightly differently when he is working out the code (usually for the better). I am excited to see this implemented, I hope it makes the site more manageable and more exciting. Be well Mr. Banana. Look forward to more and more of your writing...from your average snippet rank I doubt you'll have much that will be subject to the mill.

11:37PM EST   Oct 11th, 2008 — by Kole
As a matter of fact, I do enjoy it. It's good to be able to match a face with the person you're talking to...for now I guess Calvin will have to do. Sorry! Also, I enjoy the back and forth reporter-style posts. I think I just may read every once in a while. You and Nico are extremely smart guys (and I guess I am too; I'm not going to say you're the ONLY ones, you know), and you are really funny. Anyway, promoted you are! See you around, Dudbud! ~Ozz

12:44AM EST   Oct 11th, 2008 — by Nina Zito
Hello there! I know, I know – Where have I been? It has been a very crazy couple of months and I have so much monkey work to do it is downright daunting. Anyhow, I am writing back to you to let you know that you are CORRECT when you read stories you no longer see the 'read next' button. We figured regular users of the site would appreciate not having to do this extra step. We had coded it in originally so that people got used to doing things 'backward' and looking up for the next part of the story rather than down. Since you are a veteran we didn't feel like you needed the functionality any more...

10:02PM EST   Oct 9th, 2008 — by Kole
Hullo, Dudley! What a fine brunch I've just had, and it's the middle of the evening. But, my agenda IS full, and unfortunately I'm not around much. Alas, Shakespeare once said 'All's well that ends well.'. Cheerio, my good friend, and Godspeed! ~Oscar

11:57PM EST   Oct 8th, 2008 — by Kole
I don't think you understand. Of course, I could be just some freaky predator with a bunch of 14 year old kid friends on the site to cover up for me, but when one of those kids freaks out because he searched me on google, sometimes it's necessary to humor him. I don't think that my pen name will be permanent.

6:46PM EST   Oct 2nd, 2008 — by Kole
You mean some clever little thing listed under location? Okay. First I'll have to think something up, of course...If you mean something different, on the other hand, tell me.

12:49AM EST   Sep 28th, 2008 — by Shane
Gollin, I never knew you that well. You were always a friend of a friend to me, but i think you deserve an MM too, being my favorite monkey's favorite monkey. so, bye Collin. I'm leaving for about a month and I hope I see ya soon after I come back. Bye.

11:50PM EST   Sep 27th, 2008 — by Kole
Whoa! I just thought you were messing with me! Thanks for telling me, though. I learned something today (after I clicked the logo in the bottom right-corner.)

4:36PM EST   Sep 27th, 2008 — by Kole
Collin, I copied and pasted your opening to 10.8 degrees and posted it on my honors' english discussion board as an example of a good way to start a story for that end of earth type thing. I've been really impressed how well your stories turn out, in any case. I did acknowledge you, but then I thought that perhaps you wouldn't like me doing that--taking your writing and posting it elsewhere. If you'd like, I can take it off. Just wanted to know if it was okay with you. The site is a secure site in order to insure the safety of students, which means only members on Million Monkeys and members of my Honors' English class will see it, but I did want you to be aware of it. Thanks! ~Kole

6:06PM EST   Sep 23rd, 2008 — by Kole
Ha! I just watched that Amazing Grace Singer video from the link you sent me. Hilarious! (Does that guy have Down Syndrome or something?)

5:58PM EST   Sep 23rd, 2008 — by Kole
Coolio. Glad I'm not the only one who sees something wrong. Wow! I was such a greenie--but like every greenie who's come, I felt right at home. I didn't seem to recall that you did theater. That's wonderful. My favorite subject. I think it's hard for us to add, because quality writing we found back in the day is not found so much anymore. Also, people who do quality writing have their own strings that are hard to add to (Chris). Not that I'm against that; I think it's great to go off your own idea. Much of the Old Million Monkeys spirit that was here before is gone. It makes it hard to fix the problem. Harrison Bradlow is getting near his seed. He's got a story in mind. I, personally, think his writing is some of that absolute top-notch stuff we used to see a lot. That's why I like it so much, is because none of the new snippets have the old quality. I think another part of the problem is that so many younger writers have joined the site--not that that's bad, don't get me wrong (Not to mention we're young adults ourselves)--But because there are so many, those are the snippets we see. When we got on the site, yes, we were (and still are) young, but we read the more experienced writers' snippets and got something out of it. I have recently (just now) discovered I can go on and on. I feel kind of bad about that. Guess what?! Josh Tesch, Mowgli, and I are studying Greek Mythology in English. We're the most knowledgable on that subject in the whole class, thanks to your tree. I have to give you thanks for that. Hope to see you around! (When I have time!) ;) ~Kole

9:15AM EST   Sep 23rd, 2008 — by Justin
Thanks. So, I added them... so... ah... feel free to tell me what you think. Even if it's bad. I like criticism.

9:19PM EST   Sep 22nd, 2008 — by Justin
I just added a wee bit onto a rather out of the way (compared to the part you're focusing ont) branch of your story, Mythery, and was wondering if (since you wrote it and since you made the rules and I'm not evil) you meant the 'only from Greek mythology' rule very literally... because if you wanted me to add a cross-pantheon plot... I could make it most excellent. Just a thought.

6:12PM EST   Sep 22nd, 2008 — by Kole
I've been messing around a bit on the site...and I got to thinking: Remember when I first joined last July? I took part of a chat session with Ryan, Nina, and you. I remember that we discussed rather quickly about webcams and other improvements on the site. Then, for the next couple of weeks, we remembered that as the longest chat session in Million Monkeys history. Now that Shane, Mikoto, Ansem, and various other people who have stumbled onto the site from various places such as fanfiction have come to the site, chat sessions like that are an everyday occurence. *Sigh* I miss those days when there was more writing than chatting going on. The site had less hustle bustle, less chit chat, more work done, more stories to read, more magic...Not to mention Old Man Riverside is on less. But he is coming back! I caught him a bit ago, not to mention he was on only seven hours ago. I think he's just busy. Well...I just have to say now that the site is so much bigger, it's not so much fun... Oh well. Anyway, Hope you have a good day despite my dreary messages! They're just a thought process, you know! Nothing to worry about. See ya around, I hope! ~Kole

5:34PM EST   Sep 22nd, 2008 — by Kole
Hmm...I hope I can catch you one of these fine days, when both of us actually have the time to chat a bit. Again, Good luck doing whatever you're doing wherever you are. :) ~Kole

10:55PM EST   Sep 19th, 2008 — by Philip Segal
Thanks for the recent comment Collin. It's a pleasure to write for your ingenious stories!

6:49PM EST   Sep 16th, 2008 — by Kole
Finally! Congratulations on your second pole tree, Collin!!! :D

10:48PM EST   Sep 15th, 2008 — by Emily Higley
Well, it's an awesome story!!

8:49PM EST   Sep 15th, 2008 — by Emily Higley
Hi, I accidently added 2 of my snippets [but they were the same] to 21 kisses. Would you mind deleting the one that no one has added anything too?

4:19PM EST   Sep 13th, 2008 — by Kole
Whoa! Collin--I just realized that Mythtery is really, REALLY close to being a pole tree at 75 snippets. Early Congratulations to you, man! :) School's still getting better, I hope. I'll see you around! ~Kole

1:37PM EST   Sep 10th, 2008 — by Fullmoonblue
Hey hey -- How's your writing? Wanted to say, I think you gave Mythtery a brilliant premise. Seems kinda like a soap opera starring people in togas. When I have time, I may try writing an entire trunk, just to see where it goes... How goes school? Hope your fall is off to a good start, Blue

2:00AM EST   Sep 7th, 2008 — by Fullmoonblue
Hey Collin! It was fun to run into you here tonight in chat, albeit briefly. I'm just off to begin reading Mythtery, which sounds like an amazing idea. You've really added a lot to this site since earlier this summer! Best wishes. :)

8:08PM EST   Sep 6th, 2008 — by Elizabeth Gilroy
Alright. It took me a few days to figure out exactly who I owed an apology to. And After thinking You were one of them. There really was no reason to fight with Kole over something neither of us had proof on. I am sorry for being so......What is the term I wanna use? Uh...A drag? Annoying? Bothersome? Stop me when I hit it. Anyway I am really sorry. I understand how you feel and I really hate fighting, to the point where I curl up and cry. But still, it was a useless fight with no proof of anything. So I am sorry.

7:20PM EST   Sep 6th, 2008 — by Kole
Collin, I have a question. When you write a short story of your own, how to you put it on the internet? I was just thinking of the story you gave me, when you wanted my critique, and then it got me to thinking--How could I get critique from other monkeys myself? Anyway, I was just wondering. It would be nice if you could tell me. Thanks! ~Kole

How ya doin

9:59PM EST   Sep 4th, 2008 — by Kole
By the way, I didn't even take it into consideration of how much of a bad day you were having when bickering with Bob/Amsena or whatever and Elizabeth, so I'm sorry for that too. I know how much on my nerves some people who happen upon this site get on chat. Sorry! :( I do feel bad.

9:40PM EST   Sep 4th, 2008 — by Kole
Collin, this is your third school day in ninth grade. When I was ranting about the missing greats, that was also my third school day. In ninth grade. You'll get too caught up in school for it to last long, not to mention that now that you're in a new building you'll probably make more friends. Get over it, you will. Anyways, you are pretty much a genius, and I'm sure you'll cope, and looking through Ryan Riverside's history of Monkey Mail, apparently he's had a history of going inactive then coming back again. Even though that doesn't have a lot to do with anything, it's a start. Good luck in school!

7:14PM EST   Sep 4th, 2008 — by Kole
Hei, Collin! Just felt like sending you a big red message, because there's nothing like it!!! SMILE!

5:53PM EST   Sep 4th, 2008 — by Kole
I feel like a retard, sending three notes at once. A klutzy move like I'd make in real life...anyway, feel free to join the club. Our little siblings on this site should be acknowledged, and anyone with a little sibling (me, you, Yoko Uno, Olivia, Mariama, and a few others) are free to join. But really, as you know, there is no club, but it adds prestige!

5:51PM EST   Sep 4th, 2008 — by Kole
Whoa! I see you've filtered down your own favorites. I don't know why this strikes me, but it does...Be careful. Pretty soon you will become just as cynical and critical as me and have no favorites...none at all...

5:49PM EST   Sep 4th, 2008 — by Kole
I liked your story, Collin. I liked the detail, the wackiness, and above all, the down to earth (and not exactly played out, just like in real life) dialogue. I also liked the honesty in your story, that you see in real life all the time but rarely in media. Good job! I'm sure it will turn out wonderfully at this pace. :) ~Kole

Hi Collin, we (anabelle &olivia thistle) have a bit of a problem. See, Olivia forgot to log out, so I accidentally posted a snippet under her name. We we're wondering if you could help, because its on your Mythtery tree. it's a snippet called 'murder?' and it comes right after the one about the pomegranite seed. We we're hoping you could prune the snippet so that I could rewrite it as me. Thank you so much. Annabelle and olivia thistle

Well, Collin, your tree is infinitely more successful than mine. I'm just glad that you let my tree go on top. Thanks! ~Kole

Hei Collin! I just looked at my profile again 2 seconds ago and I happen to have 24% of a seed too! Haha! That's the lamest coincidence ever. Oh, well. Smile! :)

11:13AM EST   Sep 1st, 2008 — by Kole
Well, already you've got 24 percent! You were right, but hopeful when you said you might have one hundred percent after you planted. Haha!(Playfully)...Well, I love your tree. I'm almost surprised at how fast it's grown, so excellent Job! (once again). I hope I didn't screw up my tree, but let's leave that to the monkeys. Alrighty then! See ya around! I leave you my 'blessing'!

You know what I just realized? You even have a different font on your bio. I never noticed that. Another example of pure HTML genius.

8:10PM EST   Aug 27th, 2008 — by Kole
Sorry about leaving you alone on chat, Collin. I had to run, so I didn't have time to even give you a quick warning or 'bye!'. Sorry.

10:02PM EST   Aug 26th, 2008 — by Shane
oops, i mean collin - sorry!

11:35AM EST   Aug 26th, 2008 — by Shane
hey, cole. I just wanted to say that its fine. whenever, someone says stuff like that to me (like kole did once - but that was my fault) i figure something else is going on at home, or (as i tend to do) ive been getting on their nerves. judging by the mm you sent me, i guess it was the first one. just dont worry about it, i know you didn't mean it. oh and P.S. im NOT changing my moving avatars.

1:57AM EST   Aug 26th, 2008 — by Fullmoonblue
Hey you! I wonder why I can't see your icon (avatar?) or Mariama's anymore from my Bio page. Sigh... Ah well. Beside's that, life's settling in nicely in the new locale. How are you lately? Best wishes if you're starting classes again soon. :)

6:33PM EST   Aug 24th, 2008 — by Simian Simon
Colin, perhaps sadly, my avatar and I become more similar with each passing day.

Collin....it is brilliant of you to be such a great introduction to the Million Monkey site for so many new authors. I love that you are helping them to feel at ease and creating a real community around the writing and the process of writing. You are so very right that the site really has exploded in the last couple of months. The exponential growth really started to become noticeable in January of this year. Ask Chris, prior to that he, Simon and a woman named Aria were are stars. Chris had the stage all to himself for a few months. The what's new section was invariably all Sadler Sadler Sadler. It was lots of fun to see all the directions he wrote in... I do love having more active monkeys, it is great—it also puts a lot of pressure on us to find time to make the site more manageable and utilitarian as it scales upward...work work work...it is a good problem to have. thanks again....

Man, you are putting really good additions to my snippets on 10.8F! Thanks!

12:23PM EST   Aug 21st, 2008 — by Kole
How did you italicize 'All' when you sent me the MM?

12:05PM EST   Aug 21st, 2008 — by Kole
That's what I'd do, if I were you. That just makes it look like you're competing for more trees.

10:33AM EST   Aug 21st, 2008 — by Kole
Closer and closer. I'm excited, but I can't think what to post one about. :)
