You've got nothing to worry about regarding your tree being liked. Your most successful snippets are the ones where you let yourself show your natural creativity. The advice I keep getting over and over on how to improve my own writing is to put more of myself into it. I think that's what makes the best writing, and I think the same goes for you. So my advice for your first seed is just be honest with it and don't worry if people like it. The more you try to please others, the less creative or original your seed will become.

Yeah, I remember that one. I figured it HAD to be a family member, but (just for ha-ha's) thought it might be funny if the pictures were actually completely random people... Anyway, keep writing. This site is the perfect way to practice and hone your craft/hobby/distraction. Plus, we Monkeys will offer our thoughts and critiques.

I'm glad to hear you feel that way. One of the best ways to improve your writing is to get honest feedback from readers. You've only been here a couple days, but you'll find that nearly everybody on this site has only the best intentions.
