Purple Monkey Dishwasher

The garage was hot and crowded. Guitars lay next to hedge trimmers, rakes were propped up against keyboards. It smelled of grass clippings and body odor with a brain-killing dose of paint remover.

'Purple Monkey Dishwasher' the latest incarnation of Jake's ever changing band was supposed to be rehearsing, but their lead singer, Marcus, hadn't shown up yet. This Friday was their first show in over
a month and the set needed more work than a rusty engine block.

They were hoping Marcus was only running late, but he was their third singer in five months.

Dear Monkeys, This entry is from PASTE Magazine. PASTE has written an article about One Million Monkeys Typing in their July 2008 publication. We encourage you to support them by collaborating with PASTE readers on this tree and also to go out and purchase the PASTE magazine! Thank you to PASTE and thank you to our Monkeys! Best, Nina

I like this set-up. The garage scenery is vivid without being overly descriptive. I was thinking, this band goes through more vocalists than Van Halen!

Does PASTE have an online version you can subscribe to?

Look at this amazing tree! I wanted to let all the monkeys know a little bit from behind the scenes on our Monkey site. Tom Wilkinson Monkey #477 happened upon this site and signed up a few months ago. Afterwards he convinced his wife Alissa to join as well. Although she has yet to add snippets to our trees she was so good as to author the piece in Paste. Later the editors at Paste requested a tree that they could point their readers towards and we were honored to have Tom be the one to write this first snippet. As Alissa calls it in her blog: this combined effort was a loose collaboration between them. If you have time please be sure to congratulate Tom on a fantastic and relevant story line that has brought many fun threads to read and add to. One Million Monkeys Typing would like to formally thank the Wilkinson household for their contributions in helping our community thrive. THANK YOU.

It was a very fun idea for a tree -- we all send thanks to everyone involved, I'm sure! :)
