Princess Laramie had heard all about magic from the old stories that her father had told her as a child. These stories were filled with pixies and unicorns, phoenixes and mermaids. She didn't understand why her father was so upset. I mean, how bad could this so called 'terrible Magic' be?
But Laramie didn't want to press her tired father any further, so she bade him good night and started walking toward her chamber. Ever since her father had told her that he was worried about Magic, her mind had been racing. She couldn't understand why harmless things such as pixies and unicorns would bother her father, the one that had fought time and time again in battle to protect the kingdom he ruled and loved.
Laramie had to help her father. She couldn't bear seeing him like this any longer.
I just have to learn more about Magic. Laramie thought to her self. It's the only way to help her father and her kingdom.
Laramie started thinking about where she could learn more about Magic. Laramie stopped suddenly in the hall, an idea so obvious and brilliant that she couldn't believe she hadn't thought of it sooner. Instead of going back to her chamber, she started the opposite way, to the Great Library.
